The post has landed
Look at me updating this thing in the summer. I’d forgotten the password awhile back and I can’t help but notice that I misspelled exercise in my last post. My bad.
Anyway, so my now-retired boss pulled me into the office to have a discussion about things and gently pointed out that my office wardrobe might not be the most professional…Okay, I’ve been mistaken for an undergrad a few times and someone once thought that I sounded too young to take me seriously, but you know short of smoking a pack a day, I’m not sure how I can make my voice all Lauren Bacall-like. But he is right about the professional part, I mean I not showing up like I am about to hit the clubs, but I look like a very sleepy student.
Except I prefer to pay things like rent and I learned a very expensive lesson (which I am still paying off by the way – I’m 26 and am still paying for things that I purchased from when I was 19-21) about buying things with money I didn’t have. And I live in a small college town. The stores downtown cater to students either in class (hello ironic tees and university sweats) or going out to bars. Oh that’s not entirely true, there is Free People stuff and designer jeans. And there is that one store that caters to rich undergrads and their moms. Oh and I can never forget about the A&F. NEVER. And the mall isn’t exactly bursting with choices.
So maybe that is what this blog should be all about. Finding ways to keep the graphic t-shirt + jeans loving me = proper professional type. Except I will forget about this blog for another six months or so. Hmm…
